Ventilator

Ventilator

A medical ventilator is a device that aids in stimulating artificial respiration, which is essentially a metabolic process referring to the overall exchange of gases in the body by pulmonary ventilation, external respiration, and internal respiration. It is used to provide mechanical ventilation by moving breathable air into and out of the lungs, to deliver breaths to a patient who is physically unable to breathe, or breathing insufficiently.
